It still gives popular accounts with lots of followers the unintended power to silence others tbh
You might be pleased with likeminded mutuals reporting actual spam before you see it, but if a couple of popular accounts with tons of followers decide they dont like you, you will get suppressed. Affecting other people who would have enjoyed or beneffited from finding you now denied. You gotta look at the whole picture here
