At 6am on 1 December 1993, a group called "Act Up" put a huge condom on the Luxor Obelisk which stands in the Place de la Concorde in Paris.
The obelisk is 27 metres (70 ft) tall. This made the AIDS crisis a little more difficult to ignore.
