Don't know if it's relevant and I don't use matrix so can't actually find out, but something we did relatively early on was separate accounts and actors. This was primarily due to supporting groups in Friendica back in 2010-2011. When accounts and actors were linked together, it meant you had to logout and back in to switch to the group admin account from your personal social account.

Once they are separated, it means you have a login account to your instance, and you can create as many "channels" (aka actors) as the instance provider permits. These can be social actors or groups or bots or something else. A management page lets you toggle between these as desired without requiring a different login and password for each. Added bonus: with OpenWebAuth we use the same page as a one-stop solution to switch hats to remote moderator role for any groups on any instances that we're allowed to moderate;  as well as switch to any other fediverse identities that we've linked to this account - like maybe a pixelfed account or a wordpress account.
