They also reserve the right to start showing WhatsApp users ads in the app (I suspect they haven't figured out how to do that securely)... but the other question is - given how ethically 'flexible' Zuckerberg is - could they be harvesting rich data from WhatsApp calls? Yes, the calls are 'encrypted' from end-to-end... but Meta controls the proprietary apps at both ends. They could have a second stream that is decrypted on Meta's servers & used to populate ad models & train LLMs ....
