Christmassy Merry Dude (npub1ecj…fchy) I definitely agree that there is an optimal cut off depending on the society. In the US, it seems like either kids are forced to live with their parents until they are in their 30s and thrown out into the wild to fend for themselves. I think if there was more of a focus on trade programs rather than completing school for certain kids they would be able to develop some sense of responsibility and mature at a pace that could make the cut off earlier. Most of these issues, imo, stem from the US, and increasingly other countries, being atomized and regardless of your political beliefs, I think entire communities should realize that it's just as much their duty as it is the parents to ensure children are kept safe because it does have a ripple effect.
