Well I'd been looking into creating an app to pull your LinkedIn profile into a government-formatted resume - but after weeks of brain-fuzziness making me unable to focus enough to debug, I finally discovered that the problem is, in fact, not my code.
LinkedIn has blocked all access for developers via API to the full profile data, even when auth is given by the user. Yet another example of private companies hoarding our own data.
