I just saw an article from The Conversation about Bhodi Day, focused on Japan, but I guarantee you if you go out on the street and ask 100 Japanese people what December 8 is, 99 will NOT guess Bhodi Day. And if you tell them what Bhodi Day is, most will say they’ve never heard of it, and a bunch will say they’ve heard of it but don’t know much about it. (2/3)
