Just had a friend ask how sending 1 sat would even work so sharing here in case anyone else is curious.
It's a simple, elegant idea. You can send 1 sat (and ultimately, in time, probably also tiny fractions of sats) by keeping payment channels open and only settling on the base layer after hundreds, if not thousands, or even millions of transactions on the second layer (lightning).
Like keeping a bar tab open all night then just paying once at the end when you close the tab so the bar only pays one credit card fee on all the trnasactions. I saw this video years ago and it still explains it really well.
