Your "view" of the network depends on what relays you are connected to. So if you are connected to different relays in different apps, you may see different things. Best practice is probably to publish to many relays if you want lots of reach. However, if you have followers, their clients will automatically fetch stuff from whatever relays you're already on (even if they aren't normally in their relay list). That's my understanding of it at least.
