lots of people don't mind if there's not a meeting agenda because what they care about is the attendants list. are important people on this meeting? then I must go, I must get an invite. Is my boss on this meeting? Is my bosses' boss? then I have to go. What can I say in this meeting to look smart, to look like I know what I'm talking about? All those considerations are very independent from the content. I wish I could tell you this doesn't matter, but clearly it does, for them.
