I have read books with alphas. Some can be good, but really... it's bad science, it's a terrible trope and I can't really take it serious.
So when I decided I wanted to write Wolf Shifters, I set out knowing it wouldn't have alphas (there is actually one wannabe, a real asshole and he gets what he has coming, take that as commentary on the trope).
It's a problem because most readers in the genre do expect alphas. But I've never let that stop me.
