The Emirates Journalists Association announced a 25th anniversary celebration program for its silver jubilee, which will take place from January 12 to 16. The event will feature the presence of delegations from local, Gulf, Arab, and international press syndicates and associations, as well as organizing workshops and sessions that shed light on the future of journalism. The program includes a comprehensive session titled "Gulf Insights," which will discuss multiple topics reflecting the regional challenges and opportunities. This event is a significant milestone in the association's history, highlighting its achievements over a quarter-century of dedicated service to journalism and journalists, and reflecting the country's civilized image as a leading center for international events. The program includes a range of activities aimed at enhancing the role of journalism in achieving sustainable development, through hosting extensive meetings with Gulf, Arab, and international press unions, which will contribute to taking strategic decisions that serve the journalism and media professions. The association will also honor six prominent Arab journalists, recognizing their significant contributions to developing the profession and their active role in the establishment and development of the association, as well as its administrative and organizational links with similar organizations in the Gulf and Arab regions. The association will also launch the "Freedom and Responsibility" charter, an important document for regulating media work and enhancing its credibility. The association's message focuses on supporting freedom of expression, enhancing national achievements through providing a platform for exchanging ideas and visions, and being a strategic partner for media institutions in the country, striving to address the challenges facing society. Honoring the founders The association's president, Fatima Al-Ma'ini, stated that the event will honor the founders and former directors of the association, recognizing their prominent role in building and developing this national institution, as well as announcing the winners of the association's first-ever awards, which include the "Innovative Media Organization," "Inspiring Media Personality," and "Best Content Creator," to encourage creativity and innovation in the journalism and media sectors.
