1. It’s an honest and sustainable business model.
2. If each stamp can be a tenth of a cent, it’s much cheaper than the SMS days of 2007, for example.
3. Assigning value to sending of messages also incentivizes upgrades to more rich communication like phone, video, or 😲 face-to-face.

It might take off among the niche nostr/crypto audience, but it's never going to be on the level of Telegram or Signal. Requiring crypto is inherently self-limiting.
