My friend PAULINA BORSOOK is not doing well. Her work should be better known; in 2000 she wrote "CYBERSELFISH: A critical romp through the terribly libertarian culture of high-tech", hugely prescient: the crypto wars, the creepy selfishness and self-centered self-importance of the tech bros. The blatant use of H1B visas. The kinds of social containment Meredith Whittaker talked about at #38c3 about insecurity and fear and privacy, Paulina saw it all and wrote it down.

Obviously saying this in the early oughts did not enhance her career. (Book cover blurb: "Agreeably caustic", Paul Krugman.) And funny.
The book's website has frayed: http://www.cyberselfish.com/
She's lost her place to live, has many health problems, and no source of income. There's a GoFundMe for her here. She's always been frugal so a little money would go a long way.
