I’m thoroughly disgusted.
There’s a local woman here who is full on “maple maga” (anti-trans, anti-SOGI, anti-vax, right wing extreme). When she found out our PM was vacationing near here at a local ski hill, she made a point of being there, walking up to him in the parking lot seemingly friendly, with a “Hello, Mr. Prime Minister, shaking his hand. Then proceeded to yell, telling him to “get the fuck out of BC”, with at least one of his kids present no less. An embarrassment.
This person cries that freedoms are being taken away - yet she was free to walk up to the leader of our country. Free to express herself. Free to walk away. She is clueless.
I don’t care what your politics are (well, I do care, but know it’s our right and privilege to vote how we please), it is never ok to approach anyone in this manner. She thinks she was so smart. Of course, there are those who applaud her actions. It’s sad.
Where does it stop? Telling people to “go back where they came from” isn’t far behind.
She’d likely be the first to cry foul if I approached her on the street and started yelling at her. So why does she think it’s ok to do that to someone else?
I hope Canadians do not elect our increasingly radical right wing party under PP.
