With white supremacist Christian Nationalism on the ascendance, the resolution last week by Toronto city council to proclaim December "Christian Heritage Month" seems particularly bone-headed.

It brings to mind the now defunct Christian Heritage party.

Christians have no shortage of recognition, with the only stat holidays of religious origin being Christian ones.

This ugly tribalism has no place here. And I say this as someone who regularly attends church.
