I've often suggested to students who talk to me about online behavior that you need to have a broad and balanced information diet. Using algo sites like Twitter, Insta, and TikTok only is like eating a vast amount of intellectual junk food. Sure, it is tasty, often super spicy, and quite addictive, but it is not very healthy for you long term. They seem to get this advice as reasonable and empowering as opposed to scolding--they actively choose vs passively consume.
