I watched his mostly summary video from 2 days ago and it's both sad to see and also obvious in hind sight that it would happen one day. When you look on fedi and see who uses Arch, it's obvious that the community has been infiltrated with very political people. It's close to the Nix "nazi" purge and far behind openSUSE's stance. The community might recover to the previous mostly apolitical stance, but to be honest it probably won't. The people that are part of the apolitical FOSS community are largely silent and just move somewhere else.

>Hope it works out for you, but NATO/BRICS+ linux kernel split will likely hit the distros too.
The very non-transparent banning of Russian kernel devs already made me realize that. I understand the reason behind it, but what mattered was the process of doing it and both Linus, Greg completely failed.

>The navel gazing of Western distros show none of them are ready for what's coming... what happens when you have no drivers and then no package maintainers?
Personally I would go to BSDs whose communities are really small and therefore aren't full of people with extreme politics. And when BSDs fail, I'll embrace the Luke Smith pipeline. At that point computing isn't worth it.
