My van just got hit by a completely invisible cyclist at a residential intersection.
"What the fuck, dude? You need LIGHTS" I said to him, as he almost broke my passenger side rear view mirror off while using it to steady himself.
"I can't afford no lights" he replies.
So I handed him my battery powered headlamp.
"Thanks," he says as he pedals away, not wearing it.
EDIT: I don't think this dude was intoxicated and I don't think he was unhoused. I realize that one might infer those things from this story, but you might consider asking yourself where and why it was you made those assumptions and what that might say about your own preconceptions.
