How would the sats function? Some games just give rewards in sats. Some games organize frequent mini tournaments and get sponsors, so winners, say, top 3 get some rewards (starcraft)
Of course, sats could be used in games basically as in-game currency provided that players have something to trade with eachother (think, Diablo)
