Groggy morning thought: Right now, it takes a fair amount of human work to fix up 3D scan data in order to roughly duplicate a small object. The tools are getting better, though. I wonder when I'll be able to buy a 3D copier that's roughly as easy to use as a basic paper copier.
I'm imagining putting a thing into a box, pressing the big green button, and then waiting for it to Ding! so I can retrieve my print.
