I think a lot of gay and lesbian people very foolishly thought that Obergefell would be the end of the fight for civil rights. As if Queer dignity was settled.

And I think you can look at any other marginalized group historically, and see how fast the tide can turn against you.

I think that’s why it’s really critical to not have any delusions about throwing trans people under the bus to assuage the lunatic fringe on the right.

We have to take the long view on LGBT rights.
