So many lines are crossed so fast that they all blur. Makes victim lose sense of scale and the gaslighter can get away with big things while making you feel like crap about tiny nonsense. Classic misdirection. They make you doubt your reality, your sanity and the sanity of the people around you. Mix that with the media's baseline need to keep things "balanced" and provide a two equal sides story and you start to understand some of the cognitive dissonance projected back at us.
