I suspect neighbor did have this new summer strain, which, though not more lethal, is reported to a nastier experience for victims.
I swear, it feels like covid is like a relentless, swinging hammer. The first blow may not get you. Neither the second or third. But every blow weakens the overall structure, more and more. Every blow steps closer to collapse. I hope I'm wrong, but the research indicates this. If so, within the next few years, mere cracks will become big fractures.
