I decided back in the BLM days that I would, as much as possible, listen to the plurality of Black women, especially Black trans women, for direction on my politics. They're the ones that are continually the most at risk of political and social oppression, and will have the best concept of which politicians and policies are the least bad for them. Sure, it doesn't mean I follow blindly, but I always look at their thoughts and reasoning and give it FAR more weight than I do white folks.
