Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) on 2 Nov, as seen from the Sacramento mountains of southern New Mexico. (Elevation 9,440 feet.)

This is an infrared (IR) image - 850nm longpass fillter on a modified Sony a6300.

The image is a stack of 93 30-second images. The comet still sits in the rich star clouds of Ophiuchus, but in IR its tail is not as bright as in visible light.

The left half of the image is a network of dark dust clouds that obscure the Milky Way stars.
