It is, or was. I'm 20 years older than a lot of people here, but I suffer from the same problems. I wasn't selected to start a family. I've struggled to keep my head above water financially until the last year or two (unemployed now, so back into the job hunting nightmare). I've had very little luck establishing friends and contacts after moving to a new city. I feel burned out and isolated because of our very broken society.

I haven't been able to establish the fundamental things it would take to fill those holes, and I'm now of an age where big parts of that either definitely won't happen, or are unlikely to happen. I'm genuinely worried about being an elderly man alone in the world.
