I'll be honest, I've still been reticent to use Flatpaks and Snapd as much as I ought to.
When docker-esque and container behavior becomes part of OS apps, I wonder whether we've taken the paradigm too far?
I like the original design of apps as directories with forked binaries, properties, and resources that Apple first attempted before orphaned plists became the norm.
Keep it simple. Apps reside in a directory, no rwx outside itself except for OS operations, and data internalized.
