I sometimes grieve the CDC and our public health infrastructure in general. We spent 100 years building it up after the 1918 flu. It was respected. I read a lot about 1918 and thought we learned our lessons.
But it was politically expedient to say we fixed covid so billionaires could get back to abusing their workers. So public health authorities just torched their credibility at our dipshit politicians behest and none of the lessons of 1918 were heeded.
