My advice is going tk be completely different than anyone else..
First shop for ammunition. Once you find a reasonably available and priced caliber that has the different bullets you may need ( snake shot, hollow points, full jackets, etc.), then go out and find a gun to match it.
I happen to like 40 cal.
I also like Glock. They are cheap, durable, light, and easy to clean..
