I have found they don’t have to be right next to the truck just near by They can smell the peanut butter from afar. Once the nights start getting cold I will catch about 1/2 dozen a night for a few weeks then maybe 1 a week for the rest of winter. I eradicate them because they also eat my spinach and pea seed.
