I kind of like the idea of a character who is a bee and never can figure out where the mating swarm is... always showing up were it's another species, or some other nonsense... all dressed up and ready, but in the wrong place at the wrong time.
How such aggregations form is very mysterious. At least to humans... so maybe it's mysterious to some hapless queens and drones.
