Are you kidding me!? That's what writing is all about! Seriously now, I could tell the story of "The Green Light of Arizona" in a quarter page news article. But what for? No, that kind of style is essential for writers, since we write books and not the news. We have to bloat things up, we have to beat around the bush (a little). Otherwise, it would be just boring...
