I own(ed) all of those domain names, but many people said "they all suck", and they were right (I was wrong).

But it's hard to ask for recommendations on domain names, because people will buy them out from under you.

So yes, I did make an executive decision and decided on a domain name independent of any recommendation. But it's also true that I took advice from the crowd.
