I've always had a quiet fascination with how simple the Proof of Work concept is. The fact a PoW algorithm can be written in tens of lines of code and still be mathematically secure no matter how many users are on the network is nothing to sneer at. That's beautiful!!
But that's PoW, compare that to the Ethereum rewrite of PoS which was ~100k lines of code. It's a digital bureaucracy and that should make anyone nervous.
