BTW this is something I'd encourage other TTRPG gamers (especially designers) to practice. Crunchy bits are *not* my thing. But I wrote a whole robust defense of them, acknowledging their point and appeal. I loathe 4e D&D, but deeply admire the fine design. Preference != quality.
