Subsidized haha! Truth. Amazon was built on structural trade deficits and the CCPs unwillingness to let the value of the yuan rise in global markets. IE, money printing overseas. Chinese people got ripped off and Americans got an endless supply of cheaper garbage while they financialized all their assets.
Couldn’t agree more on the impending localization that Nostr/BTC ecommerce enables. That’s gotta be one of the most beautiful things right there. Pretty much what inspired my query to the AI gods regarding waste.
Funny enough aceaspades (nprofile…u8gw) and I had a lovely discussion last night regarding the increased cost of fakes in a Nostr world. So many scams fall apart with the informational asymmetry (WoT + global reputation) that can be provided to the user with a proper interface. Right now I can head to Nostr.band and suss out 99.99% of scammers. How can we build interfaces that provide this advantage to the user up front? This is what we’re all pursuing…
