Personally, I am not a Debian fan, anymore. However, I recognize that Debian has more software choices since they've been around for decades, and much longer than Fedora.
If you were a newbie, and you insisted you needed a Debian based distro, MX Linux (KDE Plasma edition) is what I would recommend.
