Being 10 minutes long, like Yes' earliest work (most of which I've probably still not heard), you can really get absorbed into it in a way that you can't with short songs meant for radio station consumption. Yes was a lot like Rush, in that early focus on long involved pieces. Both changed, became more "mainstream" over time, but when Yes broke up and ABWH formed during the intermission, it was an opportunity for Steve Howe esp. to persuade a refocus on the early days.
