Lessons from Our App Being Delisted on the Shopify App Store

I wanted to share an experience we recently (yesterday...) had with our SaaS, Shipco, in case it helps others in similar situations. Our app, which serves Shopify merchants as well as other platforms and APIs, was unexpectedly delisted from the Shopify App Store. Since a large portion of our customers come from Shopify, this was a major source of stress and panic (as I’m sure many SaaS founders can relate to). Here’s what happened: Earlier this year, we worked closely with Shopify during an audit of our app, making updates to meet their requirements. Everything was cleared, and we were even listed in the Shipping section of Shopify stores in Japan. But about a week ago, we received another email requesting a significant change that would impact our business model. I promptly responded to the Shopify App Governance team with the required information, but our app was still delisted. No prior discussion, and only a very short deadline given for us to implement the requested change before further
