Can I gently point out that for a technology to actually spread widely into the real world you need a lot more people than just techies?
The people doing the marketing, the sales, distribution, running the numbers on pricing and plans, approving it for sale, resharing on the net, get for themselves or their work, and so on.
You'll find artists, social science grads, historians, economists and lawyers - everyone is part culpable.
