Chris Trottier (npub1jeq…jglm) I don't actually do boxing. I wanted to say I do cardio kickboxing and some martial arts, but didn't have room. I have some upright speed bags and one of those upright kickboxing heavy bags that looks like giant pylons in the garage.
A workout on those for me is typically 20-40 minutes between drills doing speed work or heavy striking and 20 minutes of doing Shaolin Kung Fu forms.
I used to work out a lot more. I still have periods when I go for it, but I mostly coast along doing 4 or 5 workouts a week of about 45 minutes these days.
The once a week maintenance plan was something I learned from a marathon training technique for busy people who just want to complete one and don't care about max performance. You can complete a marathon doing 1 progressively longer run a week and just do 2-3 mile light runs the rest of the days.
