It's definitely not a cakewalk though, and you can't just switch off and autopilot. You need to keep an eye out on where the meteor casts are being targeted and keep both you and the merc out of the splash. Even with maxed fire res you can go down to a few cast in short succession.
You can, of course, cheese meph the traditional way, by teleporting back over the little flame river, but I always feel like that's cheating. Plus it adds time luring him over. Get in, spam attacks, get out.
