Thinking of getting my first tablet ever, mainly for reading articles (via Readwise Reader), writing (via Notion/web-based VS Code), or just browsing Mastodon/the web because I hate using a phone, and sometimes the laptop is inconvenient to take around.

Would the iPad 9 be a good purchase, considering future-proofing? It's considerably cheaper than the 10, and I think I don't care about the "older” look. Main concern is Lightning port and possibly missing out on OS updates soon.
