Great article from "The Pessimists Archive" about the hot legal debate about "Fake News" and fake photography >100 years in the US. This is just as much applicable to today's AI discussions and the just starting controversy on AI generated deep fakes and the likes. Nothing is really new, history repeats itself & hopefully we as a society can learn and improve from it in the long run.

On a side-note: the pessimists archive is a great website in general if you want to read about the worries and fights of the past against new technologies. Pretty much every new technology (electricity, phone, bicycle, cars, planes, etc.) had been vilified, people have been afraid of it and did not understand it before it became common reality. #bitcoin and #nostr are just another link in this long chain of this techno-pessimism.
