Well crap.
I have been trying to write lyrics for a song for a decade and a half, but for some reason I couldn't figure out what the song was about. I put it away, worked on other things, fiddled with it occasionally.
Last night it just came to me, and today I wrote the lyrics in about 5 minutes.
So I guess the song took 15 years and 5 minutes to write!
Never give up is the moral I guess?
