It's come to my attention that some people don't know this so here goes: if you have a piece of puff pastry (croissant, pain au chocolat etc.) that you bought yesterday and that's gone a bit stale, it will turn perfectly crisp and fluffy again if you reheat in on your toaster — if you give it a rinse under the tap for a second or two and shake off the excess before popping it on.
