Warren Currie 🦠🦐 on Nostr: Mamma snapping turtle obsessively comes and digs up our grass driveway medians each ...
Mamma snapping turtle obsessively comes and digs up our grass driveway medians each year within the first two weeks of June. Hatchlings (5 we have seen) emerged this morning ~130 d later, which is a really long incubation (but it was cool and wet this summer here). This is the first year we have seen them emerge. So tiny and cute. They have been relocated to the nearby pond / Grand River so they don't have to cross the road on their own. 🐢 #Turtles
