That last 20 years went by fast. And not the way I thought it would.

Thank God for that. 🙏🏻

Deep breath…

The 20-year anniversary of losing my mom to CJD is this weekend. Where my deep dive into prion disease began. My fight with the government, with healthcare… that’s when it all started. 2004. Young me against the world, alone. I never thought it would end.

But the moment it all turned around was at block 835,709.

That’s the moment I read this article…

Here’s the takeaway from that. We are all here in this thing. Half of this thing is age 16. The other half is age 4.

We talk often about what it is and where it’s going. And there’s no way to know where it will be at age 20.

And if I could go back, I’d fight harder for there to NOT be pharma cures for CJD. But honestly, there was no other path and no better way to save lives. I knew this in 2012, I know this now. In the next decade, we will know for sure.

This is happening. Like Bitcoin is, like Nostr is. It’s happening in the background and the world isn’t excited about these things like we are because there’s no attention on or interest in these revolutionary things—not near what they deserve.

This is fine. There are enough passionate, dedicated people working on the cure for CJD so that it’s there, God willing, ~2033.

Same for Bitcoin & Nostr. When the people absolutely need it, it will be there, ready.

You truly don’t get it until it happens to you. And then you put in ~20 years of work to find out it will maybe cure ALS and Alzheimer’s too…

We can’t possibly see what’s ahead. Enjoy the ride. 🤙
