So don't let your example be "Alert on CPU usage over 80%". This is stupid. Twice so in the cloud. You want resource usage to be high on cloud instances.

Alert on queries running >30s, with no comment "/* Reporting ETA 5h30m */" in the first 100 bytes of SQL. That's a much better example.
